Kaizer Chiefs have announced their first January signing after DRC striker Christian Saile Basomboli joined the club from Zambia Super League side Nchanga Rangers.
The forward bid farewell to his former club’s supporters and teammates last week Saturday after scoring two goals in a 2-1 win over Zanaco.
He impressed Arthur Zwane and the Chiefs technical team on trial during the 2022 FIFA World Cup break, as previously reported by iDiski Times, and was not officially announced.
“Kaizer Chiefs are pleased to announce the signing of Congolese 22-year-old left-footed striker Christian Saile Basomboli,” the club said via a statement.
“Basomboli arrives in Naturena after penning a three and half deal with the Glamour Boys. Welcome to Amakhosi!”
Saile arrived in Zambia in 2021 and played with Nchanga Rangers in the National Division One, where he was the top goal scorer with 19 goals and helped promote Rangers.
This campaign he continued with his rich vein of form, which earned him his move to South Africa.
