Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sphelele Mkhulise has discussed being named Man of the Match in his side’s 2-1 win over TS Galaxy.
Mkhulise has played a bit-part role at Downs this season, starting in seven of his 13 appearances across all competitions.
The 26-year-old was given an opportunity to impress Rulani Mokwena against TS Galaxy and grabbed it with both hands.
“We were expecting a counter attack game plan similar to the one they brought when they beat us,” Mkhulise told Sundowns media.
“The most important thing was for our rest defence to be ready and prepared. We are a team, we have a lot of games still to play and everyone will get a chance to play.
“I am happy that all those who got an opportunity played very well. We used our chance well. We are collecting points and moving forward. We are grateful for all points collected.
“I am happy with the Man of the Match performance, however, I still need to improve in some areas. I will analyse my performance and do better next time.
The 26-year-old also pleaded with the club’s fans to come and support them in Saturday’s home match against in-form Sekhukhune, who have won four successive games.
“We are expecting counter-attacking football from Sekhukhune United and this game has prepared us very well for that,” he added.
“To our beautiful Masandawana, please come support us at Loftus when we play Sekhukhune.”
