With Orlando Pirates showcasing their 30-man squad for the 2022/23 season, four players have mysteriously been omitted from that list.
The Buccaneers have been active in the transfer window, roping in six new players for coach Jose Riveiro’s side, while five more players have been sent out on loan for the season.
With the club unveiling its new home and away kit for the season, it was the perfect opportunity for the Soweto giants to unveil their new players, as well as their jersey numbers for the campaign.
A quick look at the club’s official website show the club’s new recruits, however, four players have mysteriously been left out.
Defender Wayde Jooste, was amongst the more notable absentees.
There are questions surrounding the utility player’s future at the Buccaneers but the player has been adamant in seeing his contract out with the club.
Others who have been left out include the trio of Azola Tshobeni, Thabiso Sesane and striker Katlego Cwinyane who spent the 2021/22 season out on loan.
It remains to be seen whether these players do plays some part for the Buccaneers this campaign or whether they will have to assess their options away from the club.
Pirates kick off their campaign on 6 August when they take on Swallows FC in the original Soweto Derby at the Orlando Stadium.
