Orlando Pirates have lost out on a top transfer target, who has since signed elsewhere after being linked with a PSL move.
Reports from abroad indicate that Iraqi defender Mustafa Nadhim has signed with Al-Faisaly Sports Club in the Jordanian Pro League.
As reported by the Siya crew, the Buccaneers had been working on bringing in the 28-year-old Iraqi international to add to new coach José Riveiro’s squad.
However, Bucs have not been the only team interested in the player’s services, and following reported paperwork issues which delayed the player's arrival in Mzansi, Nadhim has been snapped up in Jordan.
Earlier reports from Iraq have been that the defender’s move stalled due to residency issues in Mzansi.
Having parted with three veterans from the squad of last season in long-serving Happy Jele, Ntsikelelo Nyauza and Thulani Hlatshwayo, Pirates want to leave no stone unturned in strengthening the defence for the new campaign, despite having already signed Nkosinathi Sibisi and Tapelo Xoki from Golden Arrows and AmaZulu respectively.
