After Kaizer Chiefs confirmed the departure of two more players, We look at how their recent clearout compares to the one before the start of last season.
Amakhosi announced that they have parted ways with Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, joining Daniel Cardoso, Daniel Akpeyi, Lebogang Manyama, Dumisani Zuma, Bernard Parker, Kearyn Baccus, Lazarous Kambole, Samir Nurkovic and Leonardo Castro out the door. Teddy Akumu has been placed on the transfer list
It's become a bit of a norm for Amakhosi to have a clearout at the end of the season. Before the start of the last campaign, the Soweto giants announced the departures of Philani Zulu, Willard Katsande, Kgotso Moleko, Brylon Petersen, Yagan Sasman and Sizwe Twala, while Darrel Matsheke, Keletso Sifama and Lebohang Lesako were sent out on loan. Kambole and Ntiya-Ntiya were placed on the transfer list, but ended up not leaving Naturena.
By letting go of the players, Amakhosi have made room for new recruits and they will be hoping that they can make a mark in coach Arthur Zwane's first season as head coach of the club.
