With more signings expected to be made at Kaizer Chiefs in the coming weeks, we look at how the Soweto giants could line-up next season with head coach Arthur Zwane at the helm.
Amakhosi have already confirmed the signings of Zitha Kwinika and Ashley du Preez from Stellenbosch FC, with Dean Solomons and Kamohelo Mahlatsi also expected to join from Swallows FC. According to information received by the Siya crew, Amakhosi will make another effort to sign midfielder Thabo Cele from Polish side Radomiak.
In goal, it's expected that Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen will battle it out for the number one spot in goal, following the departure of Daniel Akpeyi. Itumeleng Khune remains part of the goalkeeping department, but it appears the club is preparing him for life after football with the 34-year-old currently attending a goalkeeper coaching course.
In defence, Amakhosi have added Kwinika and it's believed they are interested in TS Galaxy's Given Msimango. But with Njabulo Ngcobo and Austin Dube still part of the side, Zwane could also have one of them as part of the central defensive pairing. Sifiso Hlanti is expected to make a return from injury and could be the main man in that position, with Sibusiso Mabiliso linked with a move out on loan.
In midfield, the Siya crew has been reliably informed that Amakhosi are looking to bring in a central midfielder, having missed out on Sipho Mbule. Sinethemba Sithebe has already been signed from AmaZulu and it's understood Zwane is a big fan of Phathutshedzo Nange, who is likely to feature regularly. Golden Arrows' Pule Mmodi is a target for Chiefs and is someone who can play on one of the flanks, with Mahlatsi playing on the opposite side.
Upfront, Du Preez has already been signed and Victor Letsoalo remains a top target for the Soweto giants.
