Kaizer Chiefs’ decision on one of the club’s talented young players is pending after he completed a successful season away on loan.
Having come through the development at Chiefs, young midfielder Lebohang Lesako spent the 2021/22 season in Mzansi’s second tier after being loaned by the Soweto giants to Uthongathi FC in August.
After a decent season with the KwaZulu-Natal outfit, the 22-year-old is waiting to hear from Amakhosi as the club is set to return next week to begin pre-season under newly appointed head coach Arthur Zwane.
“The boy is waiting for pre-season, and he and the club will take it from there. But he is among players expected to go back to Chiefs because his deal was a one-season loan,” said a source.
During his time with Chiefs’ reserves, Lesako did well under Zwane to catch the eye of the senior team, which led to his promotion in 2020.
The Tshepiso-born player will hope for a chance under Zwane in the new season to finally get to make a name for himself with the club in the DStv Premiership.
