After confirming six new signings, AmaZulu are believed to be working behind the scenes to secure the signature of a highly-rated defender.
Usuthu confirmed that they have signed Gabadinho Mhango, Veluyeke Zulu, Dumisani Zuma, Riaan Hanamub, Thendo Mukumela and Augustine Kwem and revealed that they are still looking to make two more acquisitions.
The Siya crew understands that the club has been in talks to try to secure the signature of Baroka FC defender Bonginkosi Makume, who is open to making a move after his impressive spell with the side.
Makume, who is believed to have also attracted interest from clubs in Gauteng, has one more year left on his contract with the relegated Limpopo outfit. Baroka are open to selling him, but the player is waiting patiently to hear what happens next in his career.
"Yes, they are interested. (But) I don't know the progeess. I just know that they are," Makume told the Siya crew.
During the past season, Makume made 20 appearances for Baroka. The 26-year-old scored three goals and contributed with one assist. It appears Usuthu believe he can add a lot of value to the side, as they look to rebuild the squad after recently letting go of 15 players.
