Kaizer Chiefs could be involved in a swap deal for players in their pursuit of a Bafana Bafana international who is one of the club’s top targets.
As reported by the Siya crew earlier in the week, Chiefs are close to signing Sekhukhune United and Bafana midfielder Yusuf Maart, as confirmed by sources close to the Soweto giants.
With the 2021/22 season having ended for both Chiefs and Sekhukhune, it is believed that a potential swap for one or two players to join Babina Noko from Naturena is being discussed as Maart is expected to move to the opposite direction.
Sekhukhune previously signed youngsters Sonwabile Mfecane and Sibusiso Milazi from Chiefs, albeit on loan during the club’s second round of their GladAfrica Championship campaign last season, though indications are that the players being discussed this time around are from the Amakhosi first team.
“Kaizer Chiefs are likely to offer players on top of the money that they are going to pay in their pursuit of Yusuf Maart from Sekhukhune United. That’s how serious Chiefs are about getting their target and negotiations are ongoing,” said the source.
