After a successful period in Belgium, Kaizer Chiefs starlet Mduduzi Shabalala has made his way to Spain where he is set to undergo an assessment with two of LaLiga’s biggest clubs.
Shabalala spent two weeks with KVC Westerlo in Belgium where he is understood to have spent time training with the club’s under-18 and under-21 sides.
It is believed that the player managed to impress during his time in Belgium.
Now, albeit two years later, he has made his way to Spain where he has teamed up with Villarreal, where he is set to spend a week training with the club, despite initial indications that he was set to train with FC Barcelona.
Shabalala was set to make his way to Spain back in 2020 after being selected as the COSAFA Player of the Tournament; however, the trip was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Siya sources close to the player have further revealed to the crew that as part of the trip, Shabalala will be making his way to Sevilla at a later stage.
wIt now remains to be seen whether Shabalala manages to impress in Spain, with a decision set to be made on his future at the end of the season.
The teenager has been a revelation for Amakhosi’s DStv Diski team, which saw him being selected in the DStv Compact Cup where he shone brightly among his more established counterparts.
