Orlando Pirates have made a decision on yet another player who has just made one appearance for the club, the Siya crew can confirm.
Last month, the Siya crew reported that midfielder Simo Bophela had been sent out on loan to continue his development at Venda Football Academy in the GladAfrica Championship, with his twin brother Simiso staying put at the Soweto giants.
But, the Siya crew has learnt that the Bophela twins have been reunited at VFA and were both featured in the club’s starting XI in their 3-1 Nedbank Cup win over African All Stars on Wednesday.
At the start of the season, the club’s first team coach Mandla Ncikazi hinted that Bophela would get his opportunity in the Bucs first team after impressing the technical team during pre-season.
He even made a substitute appearance against Maritzburg United earlier in the campaign, playing 22 minutes in the goalless draw.
However, Siya sources have indicated that the club would prefer that the 21-year-old would follow the likes of Azola Tshobeni and Thabiso Sesane in getting much-needed game-time in the GladAfrica Championship.
The Bophela twins will spend their second consecutive season out on loan, having plied their trade for Sekhukhune United in the last campaign.
