Marumo Gallants have set the record straight on one of their star players, following speculation of a move to Kaizer Chiefs.
Katlego Otladisa’s recent Instagram post caused quite a stir on Monday, when the Gallants winger posted “Love and peace Bafowethu. Let’s have a great year,” on his official Instagram page.
The post caused quite a stir with many social media users speculating that the 25-year-old’s post was in reference to a move to Chiefs, who are believed to be interested in his services.
The Siya crew put a call through to Gallants who shut down any possible move to Amakhosi for the former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker.
“He signed a three-year deal with us last year. The only people who are selling our players is the newspapers, not the team,” Rufus Matsena, the club’s spokesperson told the Siya crew.
“I mean the other thing is if he wrote love and peace and people assume that he is going to Kaizer Chiefs. Its only fair that you should ask Kaizer Chiefs. From our side, no comment from our side,” he added.
Information made available to the Siya crew is that Otladisa penned a three-year deal with the Polokwane-based outfit in July last year, meaning that Chiefs or any other team interested in his services would have to negotiate a transfer fee with Gallants if they are to land the player’s signature.
Otladisa has made 21 appearances in all competitions for coach Dan Malesela’s side this season.
