Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Ricardo Lourenco is hoping to make a return to South African football in January.
Lourenco, who was previously the captain of the Buccaneers' Diski Challenge side, is currently a free agent after he last played for Jwaneng Galaxy in the Botswana Premier League and had the opportunity to play Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League and then his former side Pirates in the Confederation Cup.
He left Galaxy a few months ago and has been actively looking for a club to sign with and is hopeful he will finally get to play in the PSL, after making a promising start in the Diski Challenge.
Lourenco was at some point training with the Pirates first team but never got a chance to make an official appearance in the topflight, before leaving the Soweto giants.
The Siya crew has been informed that Lourenco has been reaching out to some clubs and is awaiting responses. The 26-year-old is determined to finally live up to the promise he showed while he was playing at the youth level and just wants an opportunity to showcase his talent.
The coming weeks will be important for the player as he looks to finally find a club in the professional ranks of South African football.
