Orlando Pirates defender Thulani Hlatshwayo has expressed his delight with two of his teammates who managed to find the back of the net in their most recent encounter.
Pirates have largely been struggling for goals in recent times.
However, that has quickly come undone with the Buccaneers managing five goals in their last two games while keeping two clean sheets. The goals have been evenly spread too, with four different players getting on the scoresheet for Pirates.
Now, Hlatshwayo who missed out on the trip to Liberia where the Buccaneers took on Liberia’s LPRC Oilers, has reserved high praise for his team’s most recent goalscoring exploits.
“It’s a good win and for us to be able to gain that momentum. We have been preaching it that guys we are creating chances, but we are not scoring them, and we got the win against Stellenbosch and now with the 2-0 win. I’m happy for Abel [Mabaso] and [Fortune] Makaringe. It is good for them to be on the scoresheet. It is really good for us going forward because we have been playing good [football]. Its just that the results hasn’t been coming,” Hlatshwayo said speaking to the Siya crew at an adidas Impossible Is Nothing event in Protea Glen.
“But this is everything we talk about. Keeping the ball and being dominant, but the chances that we have created were never taken, but now two games and five goals, we can only build from there,” he said.
Pirates will be hoping to continue with their scoring touch when they take on a tricky Baroka side at the Orlando Stadium on Thursday.
