Royal AM produced a late comeback in the final stages to secure a 2-1 win over SuperSport United and jump to third spot on the DStv Premiership table.

Thamsanqa Gabuza continued in the attack for SuperSport, while there was a return to the squad for Bradley Grobler who last featured for the club in September.

Kaitano Tembo's charges enjoyed a lot of the ball in the early stages, although they had to wait for their first opening on 15 minutes but Iqraam Rayners saw his goal-bound effort blocked.

SuperSport got their reward on 30 minutes as Gabuza got his fourth league goal of the campaign with a close-range finish after Royal were unable to clear an in-swinging corner.

Hugo Nyame kept the visitors alive in the latter stages of the first half, as the goalkeeper produced a good save to keep out Manziba's effort.

The visitors looked to catch SuperSport out at the start of the second half, with Potsane going close with a strike that sailed just over Ronwen Williams' crossbar.

However, SuperSport suffered a blow just before the hour mark as defender Luke Fleurs was sent off for the second time this season after picking up a second booking.

Grobler and Siyabonga Nhlapo were introduced shortly after the red card, with Guily Maziba and Ghampani Lungu sacrificed by coach Tembo for the final 30 minutes of the stanza.

John Maduka's charges dominated possession in the latter stages of the second half, but they were finding it tough to find a way past an inspired Williams determined to keep a clean sheet.

Williams would not get his wish though, Royal AM bagged the equaliser in the 90th minute thanks to an acrobatic effort from Zukhile Mkhize.

It got better a minute later as the visitors got the winning goal through Menzi Masuku, who broke the defence before slotting into the far corner.
