Kaizer Chiefs’ marquee signing Keagan Dolly put on a spectacle against Chippa United and Soccer Laduma takes a look at the numbers behind Amakhosi’s number 10 masterclass.
Dolly managed to bag a brace and set up an assist in his side’s 4-0 win over the Chilli Boys on Saturday, while Khama Billiat and Lazarous Kambole rounded off the rout for Amakhosi.
The 28-year-old was instrumental in Saturday’s victory for Stuart Baxter’s men, and we break down the numbers behind his Man of the Match performance.
Goals:
Dolly managed to score two goals against the Chilli Boys to take his tally for the season to three. With his brace on Saturday, the attacker managed to surpass the total amount of goals (1) that he scored in 64 appearances for his former side Montpellier HSC, in just eight matches.
Assists:
The left-footed wizard set up the third goal by teeing up Billiat with a trademark through pass for the Zimbabwean to slot home. The assist was Dolly’s second of the campaign, although it is the third goal in which he and Billiat combined for Amakhosi this season.
Passes:
Against Chippa United, Dolly attempted 29 passes, 25 of them in the opposition half. He had a pass completion rate of 76%, with just seven of his passes failing to reach its intended target.
After the match, Dolly commended his teammates for a comprehensive performance that saw them claim just their second victory of the campaign
“This victory was for us, our supporters at home,” Dolly told Chiefs’ media department after the match.
“We know it has been a little bit tough for us over the last few games, but tonight showed that we have been working really hard at training off the field and I always said that once we start scoring goals, we are not goin to stop and you could see the whole team played well tonight and that’s why I could score. Khama [Billiat] got the goal and even [Lazarous] Kambole came on and he scored, so you can see the whole team is together and we are really working hard off the field and hopefully we can continue making you guys happy at home. To our supporters at home, we miss you guys and hopefully you can join us soon,” he said.
