Kaizer Chiefs gave their chairman Kaizer Motaung a great birthday gift after thrashing Chippa United 4-0 at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
Chippa looked a side determined to prove a point and in the opening stages, Thokozani Sekotlong capitalised from some poor Chiefs defending but he spurned a one on one opportunity, dragging his shot wide.
Chiefs took the lead in the 12th minute when they capitalized on a midfield error from Chippa as Keagan Dolly was allowed forward before setting up Keagan Dolly, who finished with aplomb.
The Amakhosi almost doubled their lead soon afterwards when Ismail Watenga had to produce a fingertip save from an excellent long-range drive from Khama Billiat.
Dolly was having a fantastic outing and doubled Chiefs' lead when against the run of play in the 31st minute, he cut in from out wide before fooling a defender and scoring.
The Chilli Boys were denied by another brilliant save from Akpeyi shortly before the interval when Siphesihle Mkhize unleashed a fierce strike and the Nigerian goalkeeper made an excellent reaction save.
