Orlando Pirates have two coaches with “contrasting styles”, making them tricky to plan for says Swallows coach Brandon Truter.
That arrangement came into effect immediately after the last game between the two sides in the MTN8 quarterfinals back in August – the Dube Birds dumped the Buccaneers out of the cup and Josef Zinnbauer called it quits.
Pirates have since adjusted the titles of both Fadlu Davids and Mandla Ncikazi from assistants to co-head coaches. They will be in the dugout this time.
“I think this game is going to be very different this time, and difficult. We have two head coaches there that have contrasting styles of play – I know Fadlu prefers 3-4-3 and Mandla with his transition football, so hence I say it will be a difficult game,” Truter told the Siya crew ahead of Saturday’s DStv Premiership clash between the two teams.
He believes Pirates have a score to settle.
“And then there is revenge on the cards after our victory in the MTN8. The coach left afterwards and there were so many things said in the media about Pirates and I think they want to correct it on the field of play. That is the best place to correct any matter. We haven’t lost yet at Orlando Stadium, and we are going there prepared.”
