Dube came on as a second half substitute in Amakhosi's last DSTV Premiership match against Baroka FC, making his first appearance for the club since he was signed from GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay.
“It felt great that it finally happened. I knew it was going to come someday, I just did not know when,” the Bafana Bafana defender told the Amakhosi website.
“I had to stay ready for it, I am very grateful that I played my first official game in the colors of Kaizer Chiefs.”
Dube could get a chance to start in defence when Bafana Bafana take on Zimbabwe in a FIFA World Cup Group C qualifier at National Sports Stadium on Friday, September 3. With a new group of players coming into the senior national team under head coach Hugo Broos, Dube will have another chance to impress after making a mark during the COSAFA Cup a few months ago in the Eastern Cape.
“The national team call-up is an honour, being called to represented the country is always an honour, everything happened so fast for me, I made my debut for Chiefs a few days ago and now I am at the national team. I am honored to be part of the national team, I feel happy and these are joyful moments for me.”
