Mozambique winger Luis Miquissone has explained why he decided to join Al Ahly after parting ways with Simba SC.
The former Simba SC winger was unveiled by the CAF Champions League holders last month along with South Africa international Percy Tau from Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 26-year-old revealed he received a lot of offers but he wanted to join the Egyptian outfit as he looks to win more silverware.
“I received a lot of offers during the previous period. I spoke with my agent and we decided to come to Al Ahly," he told the club's official website.
"The club is so big and their ambitions have no limits. I want to help the team win trophies. As a player, I also need to be part of this and to get my chance to help the team.”
“I need to grow up and to face big challenges, so that is why I chose Al Ahly. They need to win everything and I need to be part of this.”
“Any player dreams of playing in the FIFA Club World Cup. It will be a great experience for me.”
Miquissone also came up against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League group stages and certainly made the impression.
“It is a great feeling to face big teams like Al Ahly. At that time, I was representing Simba and I was keen to do my best on the pitch. When you face a big team like Al Ahly, you need to give all your best to show that you are a good player and you deserve to play on a big stage," he added.
