According to the midfielder, talks of working together began in 2019 and he opportunity presented itself this season.
"Coach Benni McCarthy and I have been talking since 2019. He always told me that he wants to coach me and it has always been my wish to play for him," Ekstein told the Siya crew.
"I'm here now, I need to work and him being a fan of my football doesn't mean my place is guaranteed. I have to work hard and not disappoint him and it doesn't put me under pressure, I just need to work hard."
Usuthu will be playing in the CAF Champions League, a reward for their excellent 2020/21 campaign and Pule believes this season they deserve trophies, and his keen to contribute to that success.
"I would like to see AmaZulu FC win one or two trophies, especially for the performance from last season, the way the team is managed, they deserve a trophy," he added.
"I want to see the team win, it is not about me, it is about a collective (effort) and my personal achievement doesn't really matter. I just want to contribute to the success of this club."
