The injury of Samir Nurkovic at Kaizer Chiefs could give an outcast a much-needed opportunity to impress head coach Stuart Baxter.
Zambian striker Lazarous Kambole, who is on the transfer list at Naturena, was on the bench for Amakhosi in their DStv Premiership clash against Marumo Gallants over the weekend and was introduced in the final minutes of the match for Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.
Amakhosi have a serious problem upfront and the absence of Nurkovic through injury means Baxter could pin his hopes on a player that has scored just one goal since joining the Soweto giants before the start of the 2019/20 campaign.
With little options in that department, Amakhosi have struggled in the final third, scoring just three goals in their first five matches. Of the three goals they have netted, two of them have been scored by defenders Sifiso Hlanti and Daniel Cardoso.
Kambole is in the final year of his contract with Amakhosi and with Nurkovic and Leonardo Castro out for the club, there is no better time for him deliver and hit the back of the net to inspire a turnaround for the struggling Soweto giants.
