There’s an alleged discord between the Mamelodi Sundowns trio of coaches, the Siya crew has been led to believe.
According to reliable sources, Manqoba Mngqithi, Rulani Mokwena and Steve Komphela aren’t seeing eye to eye despite the success of winning the inaugural DStv Premiership title last season in the first year of the new-look technical team arrangement.
Following the shock departure of Pitso Mosimane to Al Ahly almost 12 months ago, Sundowns opted to appoint his two assistants – Mngqithi and Mokwena, as co-coaches, with Komphela later brought in as senior coach and reporting to the duo.
In a club statement at the time, then club president Patrice Motsepe made a disclaimer that Mngqithi would have the final say where there isn’t consensus.
Ukrabet has it on good authority that there are now factions between the trio, which is no surprise, given that no three coaches could ever completely be in agreement all the time.
Im still saying this... The one man who went to Pirates and destroyed the winning combination that was made by Micho, then ran away.. Manqoba was there when Pitso built that team, he contributed... Now he's scared of telling a your man who pretends to be knowing everything about Sundowns... Steve is a senior and I respect him, he sustained competition at Chiefs without expensive players. But when Solinas and the rest came, they started buying players... And they all couldn't reach finals wherelse Steve played 2
ReplyDeletelies you are trying to unsettle the Sundowns camp before Chiefs game...you arebeen bought
