Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the departure of midfielder Tiyani Mabunda.
The 2016 CAF Champions League winner's contract with the club expired in June and the club has now confirmed his departure with an emotional video they posted on their social media platforms.
Mabunda served Sundowns with distinction and was adored by the supporters of the club throughout the time he spent there.
He joined Sundowns in 2013 after spending three years with Black Leopards and he had to wait patiently to finally get regular game-time under former coach Pitso Mosimane. He spent a season on loan to Free State Stars in 2014/15, but when he got his chance when he returned to Chloorkop, the hard-working midfielder played a big part in one of the club's most dominant periods.
As partner to Hlompho Kekana in the middle of the park, Mabunda gave his all for Sundowns and is one of those who will be remembered for the contribution they made in the Champions League success of 2016.
