Marumo Gallants have given an update on former Kaizer Chiefs player, Siphelele Ntshangase, who has been on trial with the club in recent weeks.
Ntshangase parted ways with Amakhosi before the end of last season and has since been trying to make his way back to topflight football. A move to Sekhukhune United was not secured after a brief assessment with the rookies and the 28-year-old is currently with Gallants.
The player has been on trial for a few weeks now, but is unlikely to sign a deal before the start of the new DStv Premiership season, if what spokesperson Rufus Matsena says is anything to go by.
“Remember with Ntshangase it’s been a while since he played competitive football. So, for him to be at the peak of the way we know him. It might take a while, but we are being patient with him,” Matsena tells the Siya crew.
“If we did not have an interest in him, we would have released him from the word go. We are giving him a chance to prove he can be part of the team. It’s entirely up to him. He is still with us, so it’s a good sign that we will be with our team and competing with the rest of the guys. There is no pressure. We all know that he is a very good player and we would not want him to go to waste, so rather we have him with the team. It’s a good thing that he is trying to revive his career.”
