A talented AmaZulu youngster has attracted interest from no less than three clubs as he hopes to finally get his career in Mzansi’s topflight underway in the new season.
The youngster is Lankie Khoza, and despite signing a professional contract with Usuthu last year as confirmed by his representatives, the 20-year-old has been yet to get an opportunity in coach Benni McCarty’s team.
The forward captained the Durban-based side to the DStv Diski Challenge title in the 2020/21 season after they defeated Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 in the final in May.
“Golden Arrows have showed interest Lankie Khoza from AmaZulu and there are other clubs who are also keen on him, including Maritzburg United and Sekhukhune United. The thing is that the boy signed a first team contract at AmaZulu last year although he finished last season playing for the reserve team,” said the source.
“The boy is keen to move on to make progress in his career, but AmaZulu are reluctant to part ways with him. The player’s representatives are still waiting to hear from AmaZulu regarding their plans for the player, and about the money that he is due to be paid to him,” the source added.
The Siya crew has been informed that Khoza signed a three-year contract plus a two-year option with the Durban-based club.
