A second Orlando Pirates player is expected to conclude a move to Swallows FC in this transfer window, the Siya crew has learnt.
With Zambian winger Austin Muwowo having secured a loan move to the Birds for the 2021/22 season, Pirates’ new signing Monnapule Saleng is expected to join him at the club, with the 23-year-old player’s loan deal believed to have been discussed between the parties.
While Pirates withdrew their three players who were called up to the national team for the recent COSAFA Cup in Bongani Sam, Vincent Pule and Tshegofatso Mabasa, as the Soweto giants wanted the trio to be part of the preparations for the new season, Saleng was allowed to be with the Bafana Bafana team that went on to win the competition in the Eastern Cape.
According to sources, Saleng is likely to appear in the colours of Swallows in the new season as Bucs aim to increase his chances of regular game-time and to gain experience in his first season in the top-flight.
The winger played for Free State Stars last season and finished as the top goalscorer in the GladAfrica Championship with 13 goals. He is one of the four signings that have been unveiled by the Buccaneers during this transfer window, along with Goodman Mosele, Bandile Shandu and Kwanda Mngonyama.
