After Kaizer Chiefs announced four new defenders ahead of the new season, a former player has picked a back-four which he feels could lead Amakhosi to much-needed success.
Amakhosi have added defenders Njabulo Ngcobo, Sifiso Hlanti, Sibusiso Mabiliso and more recently Austin Dube to their squad, a clear sign that they feel the department needed to be bolstered after their disappointing campaign last season.
In 2012, when Stuart Baxter arrived at Naturena for his first spell, Amakhosi announced defenders Mulomowandau Mathoho, Morgan Gould, Siboniso Gaxa and Tsepo Masilela as their new signings. They are in a similar situation now, with fresh faces brought in to ensure they improve at the back.
Former Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi has been impressed with the defenders Amakhosi have signed and feels there should be a new central defensive partnership. Mathoho and Daniel Cardoso have been playing a lot of the matches together in recent times, but there's a need for change, according to Tsotetsi.
He sees Ngcobo and Dube as the perfect central defensive partnership to take Amakhosi forward.
