Cape Town City have announced the signing of a defender ahead of the new season.
Following the unveiling of two goaleepers in Bafana Bafana international Darren Keet and Bongani Mpandle from Maritzburg United, the Mother City outfit has continued to reinforce the squad for Eric Tinkler by adding young defender Patrick Fisher to the group.
Fisher is 18 years old and he plays as a right-back and was on the books of Cape Town Spurs in the second tier.
The talented youngster was one of the regulars for Spurs in the GladAfrica Championship in the 2020/21 season and is touted for greatness, although he was overshadowed by the team’s disappointing season in his progress.
In 2017, the Citizens signed an ‘unknown’ Craig Martin who has managed to become a regular in the team and has gone on to get the recognition of Bafana Bafana selectors with his performances, with the Cape side now aiming for the same success with their newly signed young star.
