Gavin Hunt has been confirmed as the next Chippa United coach, developments that were reported by the Siya crew earlier on Wednesday.
His appointment was announced by chairman Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi and it is believed the ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach has agreed to a two-year contract.
It comes as a surprise decision, especially on Hunt’s part given his now new employer’s track record of hiring and firing coaches.
The Chilli Boys have had 29 coaches in nine years, and Hunt is now the club’s 30th following the departure of Lehlohonolo Seema, who has joined Golden Arrows.
Hunt spent eight months at Amakhosi before the two parties went their separate ways after a string of poor results in the domestic league and apparently not pulling in the same direction with management.
