Golden Arrows boss Mato Madlala is delighted with how well the KwaZulu-Natal teams have performed during the 2020/2021 season.
The recent season saw KZN teams competing in both DStv Premiership, with AmaZulu FC and Golden Arrows finishing in the top four while Royal Am and Richards Bay FC both finished in the top three of the GladAfrica Championship standings.
Madlala says it a great moment for KZN to be counted amongst top leagues, which was echoed by league chairman Dr Irvin Khoza.
"It's a great happiness, KwaZulu-Natal is a huge Province. Even our chairman Dr Irvin Khoza usually say it would be sad to see decline of football in this Province," Madlala told the media.
"This province produces good players, part of South African football history, so it very good to see teams waking up and competing, being counted amongst top teams in the league."
