Josef Zinnbauer’s men have endured a tough couple of weeks, having lost against Mamelodi Sundowns and Enyimba in their last two matches

Orlando Pirates returned to winning ways on Thursday evening with a comfortable 3-0 victory over relegation-threatened Black Leopards at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
Josef Zinnbauer’s men have endured a tough couple of weeks, having lost against Mamelodi Sundowns and Enyimba in their last two matches but they showed character versus Leopards to move fourth on the log standings.
Orlando Pirates missed a number of clear-cut opportunities – completely dominated the opening 45 minutes but couldn’t find a breakthrough.
Tshegofatso Mabasa scored the first goal of the encounter from range as he connected with a cross from Wayde Jooste early in the second half.
In the 67th minute, Mabasa completed his brace with the second bite of the cherry after his header crashed into the upright. His second attempt was on target to make it 2-0.
Gabadinho Mhango, who had replaced Mabasa created space to net the third goal to give Pirates a comprehensive win.
The Soweto giants move above Swallows and are now one point behind third-placed Golden Arrows.
‘Lidoda Duvha’ remain rooted at the bottom of the log with 18 points, six behind 15th-placed Chippa United with four matches remaining.
