Several French Clubs to offer €20m to lure Mostafa Mohamed
Several French clubs will battle over the services of Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed following his spectacular debut season with Galatasaray.
The 23-year-old had an extraordinary debut season with Galatasaray, scoring nine goals [eight in the Super Lig + one in the Turkish Cup) in 17 appearances.
He almost led the Turkish giants to the league title; however, they lost the title by just one goal to arch-rivals Beşiktaş, and therefore they finished second, taking part in next year’s UEFA Champions League.
Mostafa’s loan with Galatasaray ends in June of 2022 with the option of buying for $4 million.
Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz had revealed earlier that his club intends to exercise the option to sign Zamalek loanee Mostafa Mohamed whether he remains with the Turkish team or not.
The main interest in the international striker comes from Olympique de Marseille, who are willing to pay up to €20 million to seal the deal, according to Turkish outlet Takvim.
Meanwhile, AS Saint-Étienne seem to have not given up on Mostafa as they have appeared in the picture once again following the Egyptian’s exploits in Turkey.
AS Saint-Étienne had already tried to sign the player once before when he was with Zamalek, but negotiations broke down, Mostafa moved to Galatasaray instead.
If Mostafa Mohamed joins Olympique de Marseille, he will become the second-ever Egyptian to represent the team following Mido’s footsteps, who played 34 games with the French team in which he scored nine goals.
