Egyptian coach joins Hector Cuper’s DR Congo coaching staff
Former Egypt national team assistant coach, Mahmoud Fayez, announced that he will be joining Hector Cuper’s DR Congo national team coaching staff.
It was revealed earlier this week that former Egypt national team head coach, Hector Cuper, would take charge of the DR Congo national team.
The Argentine’s main mission will be to qualify for the 2022 World Cup after they failed to reach the Africa Cup of Nations finals under former head coach Christian Nsengi-Biembe.
The Leopards were drawn against Benin, Madagascar and Tanzania for their World Cup qualifying group, and will start their journey next September against Benin.
Mahmoud Fayez, who was in Cuper’s staff when he was in charge of the Pharaohs and then again when the two-time UEFA Champions League finalist moved to Uzbekistan, will now join him in his new adventure.
Fayez announced on his Facebook page that after working with consultant for the Emirati FA and the UAE national team he hopes that they can reach the World Cup. He then revealed that he’s ready for his new role and hopes they can qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
