BELOUIZDAD OUT TO SHOCK ESPERANCE - CAF
CR Belouizdad will square off with Esperance de Tunis in the CAF Champions League quarter-final first-leg match on Saturday.
The encounter is set to take place at the Stade de Juillet 1962 in a capital city of Algeria, Algiers.
Belouizdad booked their spot in the quarter-finals after finishing second in Group B behind South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Algerian side will look to Amir Sayoud, who was their top scorer in the group stage having hit the back of the net three times to help Belouizdad reach the knockout phase.
Meanwhile, Esperance eased into the quarter-finals after finishing at the top of Group D ahead of top Algerian side MC Alger.
Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane will carry Esperance’s hopes of reaching the semi-finals after scoring key goals in the group stage which helped the team reach the knockout phase.
The winner between Belouizdad and Esperance will take on either Sundowns or Egyptian football powerhouse Al Ahly in the semi-finals.
DR Congolese match referee Jean-Jacques Ndala Ngambo will officiate the first-leg game between Belouizdad and Esperance.
Kick-off is at 18h00 CAT.
