Coaches touched by improvement in KZN teams

Coaches from different levels of football in the country are singing the praises of what they describe as a remarkable feat by the teams.

The resurgence of KwaZulu Natal teams in both the PSL and GladAfrica Championship has not gone unnoticed.

Coaches from different levels of football in the country are singing the praises of what they describe as a remarkable feat by the teams.

Golden Arrows coach Mandla Ncikazi has applauded the province of KwaZulu Natal for shinning in football this season.

He told newsmen that the Premier of the province should be proud of all the teams because they are representing the province in different levels of South African football.

“It’s good that AmaZulu FC are where they are, it’s good that Golden Arrows FC are where they are currently.

“It’s good for the province, I can imagine if I was the Premier Mr Sihle Zikalala, he should be a proud Premier,” said Ncikazi.

“Richards Bay FC are also doing well in the GladAfrica Championship, Royal AM, Uthongathi FC are not doing badly. Maritzburg United are also doing well.

“It’s good that the teams are this competitive, we are known for being the hub of football in KZN. For a change the hub is not producing for other teams, the hub is producing for its own teams,” said Ncikazi.

Meanwhile, Golden Arrows legend and Durban FC assistant coach Lucky Sibeko, who was a darling for the fans during his playing days, believes the province has invested well in football especially the PSL teams in the province.

“After such a long time, in the previous seasons both AmaZulu and Golden Arrows were not doing well, it’s clear that football has evolved in KZN.

“They are able to compete with big teams now, actually they are also big teams on their own. Their efforts are showing that they want to be counted as big team.”

“That’s why they are playing well, they’ve really improved more than other provinces. This is good for the province and the teams too, they have improved tremendously,” added Sibeko.
