'I Am Happy Sundowns Lost'

A former Mamelodi Sundowns player has explained why he is happy that the Tshwane giants were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup.
Sundowns were knocked out of the quarterfinals of the competition by Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila on Sunday, losing via a penalty shootout.
Former Sundowns defender said it’s good for local football that Sundowns were knocked of the cup competition because it would be a 'disgrace' for the country to have one team dominating so much.
"It’s a good thing that Sundowns lost in the Nedbank Cup. They are playing too much football and in my opinion I am happy that they lost because imagine they win everything again. Our PSL would look so poor and that’s just my opinion,” Kannemeyer tells the Siya crew.
“They are playing non-stop and I think it’s a blessing in disguise for them to be out of the Nedbank. If they win everything it’s a disgrace for our country. Look at how many points they have on the log and they play week in and out and they still have games in hand. For me the league is over already.
“I don’t see anyone catching them. That’s how bad the league is. I am sorry to say that”
Sundowns, meanwhile, will take on AmaZulu in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday, April 21.
