Gavin Hunt - It Does Not Always Work Like That

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt was not too disheartened after his side dropped points which could have put them in the top eight.

Amakhosi were dealt a big blow when Evidence Makgopa bagged the equalizer for Baroka FC at Peter Mokaba Stadium, to ensure the visitors go back to Johannesburg with just a point in a 1-1 draw. The Soweto giants are now unbeaten in their last five DStv Premiership matches.

They remain in ninth place and will next host Cape Town City at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday, April 21.

"A point moving forward and it’s another game unbeaten and the players have done well. We deserved to win the game. I thought we were the better team.

You know if you get that penalty in the first half, it helps you. But we have not been getting (penalties), three games in a row.

We haven’t been getting those situations, (even) when it’s blatant.

So, it’s disappointing, because it gives you a little bit of momentum.

We should have killed it off. But over the 90 minutes I thought we were the better side, but it doesn’t always work like that," Hunt told the Amakhosi media department after the game.

Hunt also commented on the goal they conceded.

"Big deflection. We should have stopped the cross, but then it takes a big deflection and then it goes away from where it’s going, and it goes into the striker’s path. So, that’s disappointing. But that’s football. We did not protect the wide areas and we should have done better."
