Chiefs Squad Gives City Coach Worries

Cape Town City coach Jan Olde Riekerink is wary of the quality in Kaizer Chiefs squad ahead of their eagerly-awaited match on Wednesday.
The match at FNB Stadium will present the Mother City outfit with an opportunity to win two matches in succession, which is something they last achieved in January before going through a rough patch due to disappointing results.
After thumping SuperSport United 3-0 in their previous match, the Dutch mentor will be hoping to lead the Citizens to another impressive result to boost the team’s chances of a top eight finish at the end of the season.
“We know that Kaizer Chiefs is a big team with a big history and they have a very good squad. So, we are aware of their qualities. I think they also lost in the last nine games only one time. They drew but sometimes they were unlucky, they are in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, so it will be for us a tough game. They have also the ambition of to be with the top eight, so for them it’s also an important phase in the competition. So, it will be two teams with ambition and hopefully we will go and earn the results the way we played against SuperSport,” said the coach, speaking to the media.
The mentor confirmed that apart from Edmilson Dove who has been facing a long-term injury, all the other players are fit and available for selection.
