Kaizer Chiefs have parted company with one of the club’s major sponsors.
In a statement released on Friday, the Glamour Boys confirmed the parting of ways following request for a comment by the Siya crew from Hollard, the partners in question.
However, “After a 19-year partnership, Hollard and Kaizer Chiefs agreed that the relationship has run its course and did not renew the contract at the end of 2019/20 season. The partnership, which began with the creation of an insurance joint venture in 2001, was further developed with the signing of a sponsorship agreement in 2010,” read the statement.
There was even remarks from Hollard’s chief marketing officer, though the Siya crew were delayed in getting official word this morning.
Soccer Laduma had contacted spokesperson Warwick Bloom earlier today inquiring about the separation, and though he did confirm it, he subsequently asked to send a detailed email later, but there was suddenly a statement on the Amakhosi website.
Meanwhile, Chiefs said it would announce its new financial services strategy in due course.
